3rd & 4th Grade Football Game Recap: Thundering Herd vs. Redskins (September 16, 2017)
The Paramount 3rd & 4th grade football maintained its undefeated record (3-0) in North Central league play by defeating the Redskins 33-0 on Saturday at North Central High School. The Thundering Herd’s defense led the way as they recorded three turnovers including two interceptions returned for touchdowns by 4thgrader Ryan Rockingham and 3rd grade Keyon Armour-Jones. The offense showed great balance recording big plays both on the ground and through the air.
Coach Taylor’s Thoughts: “Saturday was a true team victory, yet we can’t get complacent. Therefore, as a team we’ll continue to grind and focus on the ‘FUNdamentals’ – blocking, tackling, and taking care of the football!
3rd & 4th Grade Football Game Recap: Thundering Herd vs. Falcons (September 9, 2017)
The Paramount 3rd & 4th grade football team continued its hot streak on Saturday at North Central High School defeating the Falcons by a score of 22-6. The Paramount defense controlled the game throughout beginning by recording the first points of the game on a safety. The Thundering Herd took a 10-0 lead into halftime by connecting on several deep passes, however, the Falcons narrowed the lead to 10-6 on the first drive of the second half. Paramount would quickly respond behind two touchdowns by 4th grader Ryan Rockingham to put the game out of reach, 22-6.
Coach Taylor’s Thoughts: “This was another great team victory. This one of the first opportunity that our guys had to face adversity. I thought that they handled it the best that they could. Now we are moving on to prepare for the Redskins.”
3rd & 4th Grade Football Game Recap: Thundering Herd vs. Cardinals (September 2, 2017)
The Paramount 3rd & 4th grade football team began North Central league play with a dominating 35-7 win over the Cardinals on Saturday at North Central High School. The Thundering Herd’s offense had a fast start in the victory, scoring long touchdowns on its first three offensive plays. The offensive line, led by 4thgraders Bowen Bigger and Christian Spruill, opened up huge running lanes and protected the quarterback throughout the game. On the defensive side of the ball, A’shawn Kindle-Powell and the Paramount defensive line dominated the line of scrimmage preventing the Cardinals from establishing a rhythm.
Coach Taylor’s Thoughts: “This was a great team win for Paramount! Our players were ready to from the beginning, both offensively and defensively. Now we are moving forward as we prepare for the Falcons in Week 2.”
