1st & 2nd Grade Football Game Recap: Thundering Herd vs. Redskins (September 16, 2017)

The Paramount 1st & 2nd grade football team saw their record drop to 1-2 on Saturday as they fell to the Bengals 28-0 at North Central High School. The Bengals started quickly, turning two Paramount fumbles into points, and would never look back. The Thundering Herd played well in the fourth quarter as they were able to move the ball on offense but ultimately they fell short.

Coach Thibodeau’s Thoughts: “We need to improve our blocking in practice this week. We will be working on making quick decisions on the football field and limiting the big plays on defense.”

 

1st & 2nd Grade Football Game Recap: Thundering Herd vs. 49ers (September 9, 2017)

The Paramount 1st and 2nd grade football team notched its first win of the season on Saturday at North Central High School by defeating the 49ers 14-0. The Thundering Herd played outstanding defense throughout the contest, with Corrian Gary and Brayden Branson each recording several tackles for a loss. The offense was well balanced, with five players recording double digit rushing yards. 2nd grader Thomas Robinson III scored the both touchdowns on the day to lead the Thundering Herd to victory.

Coach Stoebick’s Thoughts: “We played very well defensively, shutting out the opponent. On offense, we eliminated our turnovers and were able to put points on the board. We had a great week of practice correcting out mistakes and it showed in the game on Saturday.

 

1st & 2nd Grade Football Game Recap: Thundering Herd vs. Cowboys (September 2, 2017)

The Paramount 1st & 2nd grade football team began North Central league play with a hard fought loss to the Cowboys 21-7. The Thundering Herd mounted a comeback behind the hard running of 2nd grader Thomas Robinson III and the tenacious team defense led by 2ndgrader Brylin Branson. Paramount will practice hard this week to prepare for their upcoming game this Saturday.

Coach Thibodeau’s Thoughts: “The team battled hard but suffered a narrow defeat to the Cowboys on Saturday. The offensive line looked superb and our running attack was firing on all cylinders. Tackling is certainly an area we can continue to improve on as the season progresses, along with limiting our turnovers. With week two on the horizon, our team is preparing hard this week to get that W.”
